Wouter specialises in patent prosecution and litigation in the chemical sector. He works across the chemical field, with expertise in the areas of pharmaceutical chemistry, nutraceutical chemistry, polymer chemistry, process chemistry, and disinfecting compositions. He has a keen interest in agrichemicals, antibody-drug conjugates, drug delivery formulations, renewable materials, and hydrogen storage.

Wouter works closely with clients ranging from SMEs and university technology transfer offices to multinational companies. His expertise includes representing clients in the pharmaceutical sector at all stages of the drug development process, from invention capture and original patent drafting through to revocation and infringement proceedings before the Dutch courts and the Unified Patent Court.
 
Wouter graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specialising in drug design and synthesis. He then obtained his PhD from Imperial College London. His doctoral research focused on the metabolism of fungicides using chemical biology approaches.

Wouter is recognised by Managing IP as a “Rising Star” among intellectual property practitioners in The Netherlands.
