
Louw studied physics at the University of Leiden, obtained a PhD from the University of Twente, and worked as a post-doc researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) and the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Subsequently Louw joined De Vries & Metman in 2005. Louw’s academic research concerned experiments in superconductivity, electrical engineering, laser physics and quantum optics. As a patent attorney, Louw’s diverse field of expertise includes physics, mechanical and electrical engineering, including optics, medical devices, consumer products and measurement and control technology. Louw is chairman of the Association of Dutch Patent Attorneys in Private Practice.
