Ferry specializes in obtaining and protecting patents and conducting patent litigation in the fields of telecommunications and ICT. His expertise covers a wide range of technologies, including telecommunication networks, telecommunication devices, software, computer technology, and user interfaces. He works closely with a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from tech startups to multinationals.
Ferry studied Applied Physics at the University of Groningen and Law at Leiden University. He has been with De Vries & Metman since 2002 and previously gained experience as a patent examiner at the Dutch Patent Office and in the patent department of KPN. With over 20 years of experience in patent law, he has played a key role in numerous national and international patent cases in his field.
Ferry is a partner at De Vries & Metman. Additionally, he acts as chairman of the Disciplinary Council for the Dutch Institute of Patent Attorneys and as chairman of a chamber of the Disciplinary Committee of the European Patent Institute.
